Dorsum flattened, dark colored, with transverse cross striations.
Scoop-shaped front legs, oarlike hind legs.
Small, <12 mm.
Aquatic insects that feed on algae and other minute organisms.
Species in the family Corixidae are separated from those in Notonectidae
by differences in their dorsal-ventral coloration, front legs, and behavior.
